First Look at Django Unchained
Entertainment Weekly just came out with first-look photos of Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. It's weird/amazing to think that Tarantino's last film was Inglourious Basterds back in 2009. He's back and he's ready to stir some more controversy. This time the story is based on a slave Django (Jamie Foxx) who wants to become free of his slave-status in the pre-civil war south which hinders him in searching for his sold off wife (Kerry Washington). This film is stacked with the most random actors that it'll be interesting to see these many actors interact with each other. The roster includes Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Sasha Baron Cohen, Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, and Kurt Russel. I mean whoa, Kurt Russel? This is going to be good! I wonder if Tarantino decided to make his next project a western considering how much fun he had with Takashi Miike's Sukiyaki Western: Django back in 2007. He made a cameo and it was amusing to see his Caucasian face in a sea of Asians in a western. That sounds like a oxymoron in some ways. Tarantino is going to push the boundaries with Django Unchained once again and instead of focusing on the history, there's just going to be a lot of violence and action as usual. It comes out Dec 25!
