IVE MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION!

the women in my life.

ive been watching a lot of films with strong/different women characters lately. and thats what we are missing the most these days, esp in the oscar race. i heard that this year, the candidates for best actress is lacking, which is horrible. that is why, im trying to encourage and create more strong female roles in my life and in my films. thats the last thing we need, more men! ha! hehe. jk, im just busting your balls. but needless to say, we should continue making a difference in today's society as strong willing women who can be just as successful as men or even greater. god, i sound like such a feminist but its true! lets make it happen ladies...

catherine deneuve in roman polanski's repulsion.

brigitte lin in chunking express.

rinko kikuchi in the brothers bloom.

the lisbon sisters in the virgin suicides.

it annoys me that when there's films with no female roles -e.g. resevoir dogs, tropic thunder- they're generally good films, however when there's an all female roled film - the women- it's horribly cliched!

While she's had few meaty roles and even in films like Lost in Translation and Brokeback Mountain she still plays rather similar characters, I think Anna Farris is a really interesting actress to watch

Part of the reason I love Sofia Coppola is the fact she's a strong, amazing woman who directs movies in a man's industry! I loved Rinko in The Brother's Bloom, but I'm not sure a woman who doesn't speak two words can be considered "strong;" yes, she blows things up, but she literally has no voice, no "real" name...but both female leads did steal that film; the brothers despite being the title characters were secondary in presence.
